Fender Custom Shop 1967 Telecaster with Bigsby Journeyman Relic Orange

Fender Custom Shop 1967 Telecaster with Bigsby Journeyman Relic Orange

Fender Custom Shop

A Little Something Different

The Telecaster more than held its own in the 1960's as a talented new generation of rock, blues and country guitarists not only embraced Leo Fender's original design and it's classic sound, but also coaxed electrifying new music from it.  The specs changed dramatically in 1968 - leading to players and collectors coveting original 1967 models.

This Custom Shop 1967 Telecaster evokes the instrument's mid-to-late 60's era, with features including an alder body with a lacquer finish, a maple neck with larger C shape, a round-laminated rosewood fretboard, a 9.5" radius, and Medium Vintage frets.  This has all of the vintage vibe you could ask for.   The big tweak that you'll notice is the B5 Bigsby.  The addition of the tremolo gives you an entirely different feature set in terms of what you can do with this guitar.  Installing a Bigsby tremolo became a popular mod to Tele's years ago, and we can see why - it makes this guitar even more fun to play!

For the color, we chose something unique that you rarely see - Orange.  We won't blame you if the color and the Bigsby immediately have you thinking about Gretsch.  That's intentional, as Fender and Gretsch are two of our favorite guitar brands!  The Journeyman Relic finish adds to the vintage vibe - it provides the look and feel of a guitar that was played extensively for years, but cared for.

As for sound, the Custom Shop '67 Tele pickups give you the original tone that plays love, thanks in part to a vintage stagger, alnico 5 magnets and enamel wire.  These are lower output pickups, period correct with grey bobbins and copper baseplates.  They give you the warmth of the late 60's along with crystal clear Tele twang.

Other features include a 3-ply parchment pickguard, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and wing string tree. Also includes a period correct Black deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.

This is a special Tele, and one that we haven't seen before - because it never existed like this until we spec'ed it out ourselves!  Come to Truetone Music to try it out today, or order right here right now to get it sent straight to your home.
