You don't see many of these out there, especially like this one, modified to play better - more on that in a moment. For anyone needed a powerful, rock solid 5 string bass, that also looks spectacular, this is quite the score.
It comes from the early 1990's - one of the many good things to come from this time period - it's one of the original runs of this model. This bass comes packed with two single-coil pickups, a stacked one in the neck and a JB-style on the bridge giving you a wide range of tones to choose from. There is also a piezo pickup to give you an acoustic tone as well. There are plenty of controls to give you an expansive selection of sounds. It's about as versatile of a 5 string bass as we've come across. With the pre-amp/EQ, it's possible to blend not only between the two pickups, but also with the piezzo pickup - so, you get 4 levels (EQ, J, P and Piezzo blend) of tone control, providing an almost limitless amount of tone combinations.
The bass has been modified with the back of the neck sanded down to perfection, and oiled to give you a raw but smooth feel that is incredibly comfortable to play. So it's "raw" but smooth and playable. The bass comes with high mass bridge and gold hardware.
This bass is in very good condition - it was played a lot but well taken care of, so while there is normal player wear, overall it's in great shape. These are hard to find, especially in this finish - it's likely to move out fast!
