Here at Truetone Music, we are fortunate to have close relationships with some of the most prolific guitar builders.  One that stands above the rest is the legendary Stephen Stern, Senior Masterbuilder at the Gretsch Custom Shop.  Over the years, he was also responsible for D'Aquisto, Benedetto and Fender Custom Shop builds.  During his career, he amassed an impressive collection of gear.  Select pieces were made available, exclusively through Truetone Music.  

This rare Fender Wood Jr. was one of them, which we sold to a long-time customer and collector friend of ours.  Through his estate, it is now available again.

Built in the Fender Custom Shop, this amp was part of the first run that Fender did when the company reissued the famous Woody amps.  Multiple amps like this were done over the years, mostly made in Mexico to achieve a lower price point, but in the beginning the first run was hand built by the Custom Shop in Corona, CA.  This was in the mid-to-late 1990's.  Stern was there at the time to snag one of the first, and it lived in his private collection until he brought it to Truetone.

You will see many variations out there, but it's very difficult to find a first run version, with this exact aesthetic.  The amp is in excellent condition - which is rather rare for these Woody amps (typically they are much more "used" looking).  Stern kept this one in nice shape, and the more recent owner did as well.  It works perfectly, and of course sounds great!  Rich in tone, an iconic look that will fit into any studio or home, and built by hand in the Custom Shop, this is an incredible find.

When we had it before, the amp included a Certificate of Authenticity, signed by Stephen Stern, which you can see in the photos.  When the amp came back to us recently from our customer's estate, the certificate wasn't with it.  We have chosen to leave the photo of the certificate in this listing, so that you can see it, but unfortunately it does not come with the amp, as we didn't get it back.
This isn't just an amazing amplifier, it's also a piece of Fender history, and truly collectible.
