Pre Owned Gretsch G5627-P90 Electromatic Center Block Speyside Vintage Vibe Pickups With Case
Delivering pure and powerful Gretsch tone at a high volume - that's what this limited edition G5627T-P90 Electromasic Centerblock does. It features a double-cutaway body made out of maple, with a chambered spruce center block for improved dynamic resonance and retention of tone, while still staying light. P90 single coil pickups provide a unique voicing that normally isn't found on a Gretsch guitar like this. The midrange has muscles, the top end is transparent, and the bottom end is bruising. But, the guitar cleans up nicely, and can be used for a variety of styles.
We just took this one in, and it's in excellent condition. The previous owner played it, but not a lot - he has a big collection of guitars, and he keeps all of them in pristine condition. Everything is original, other than one very nice upgrade: he put in a set of Vintage Vibe P90 pickups. These Soapbar style single coil pickups bring the classic P90 tone, and have grounded shielding to reduce noise. The pickups have adjustable height nickel plated pole pieces, twin bar magnets, and 3-conductor output leads. We were quite impressed with these pickups. The guitar has a very useful control layout, consisting of a master volume control with treble bleed circuit, master tone, individual pickup volume controls and three-position pickup toggle switch.
The guitar comes with a very nice Gator hardshell case. We do a lot of Gretsch here, and this is one of the cooler used ones that we've had in a while. The Speyside color really looks great, and it being transparent results in the wood grain showing nicely. Not only does it look cool, but it's easy to play and sounds amazing, especially with this set up pickups. This is a killer package, and is likely to go fast.
