Vintage 1963 Gibson ES-330TDC Cherry With Case
With countless players utilizing this model over the years, the Gibson ES-330TDC is a landmark in the history of guitars. From the Beatles to Jeff Tweedy, an amazing array of songs have been played on one, making it a true piece of music history. Here we have an amazing example from 1963. It comes in the classic Cherry finish with all the player wear that showcases how this guitar has been played over the years. It's aged quite, resulting in a beautiful patina as well as an open and resonant tone.
This guitar comes with a fully hollow maple laminate body in a gorgeous, faded Cherry Red. Unlike its cousin the 335, the 330 has no center block, making it incredibly lightweight and acoustically resonant with a warm, "woody" sustain. This specific year is highly desirable as it marks the transition to small block inlays on the rosewood fretboard, giving it that classic mid-60s Gibson aesthetic. The neck comes with a slimmer profile than its '50s counterparts but still thicker than later '60s models. Both the body and neck feature binding too, and this one has aged perfectly.
The heart of this vintage beauty is its pair of original P-90 pickups with black covers. These pickups deliver a gritty, mid-forward growl that cleans up beautifully into a sweet, jazzy chime when you roll back the volume. This guitar is all original and in good condition especially given its age - obviously there are marks and finish wear but nothing major. We'd say that what is on there creates the perfect vintage vibe. It comes with a vintage hardshell case. The guitar has been fully vetted and setup to play perfectly by the vintage experts in our shop.
Any vintage Gibson is special, but an ES0330-TDC from 1963 takes it to a whole nother level. We have a feeling that it won't last long.
